COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES

Putting value back into our society

We are very conscious of our corporate social responsibility at Lombard - and the need to support our staff in their own community activities. It's all about sharing our success with the communities in which we operate.

Many Lombard staff are involved in charities and their local communities in their spare time, whether in regular activities such as being a school governor or participating in one-off fundraising events such as the Caledonian Challenge and the Lombard 24 Peaks Challenge. Many thousands of pounds have been raised to date.

Local sub-committees have been established across Lombard, involving a broad spectrum of volunteers who have a real desire to help their community. Anyone can get involved, whether on committees, organising events, coming up with ideas or just taking part in the events. It's a case of "Let's make it happen for your community!"

Chairman's Awards

Launched in 2004, these awards recognise the work that many RBS Group employees do in their local communities - volunteering or fundraising. A Gala Dinner is held each year where all finalists are recognised for their outstanding contribution to the community.

The winners receive a specially commissioned trophy and a £1,000 donation to their chosen charity.

Give As You Earn

With this scheme, staff can make tax-free regular donations to a charity of their choice. Our parent company RBS deducts this from salary and sends it direct to the charity. What's more, RBS double-matches staff donations - giving £2 for every £1 donated by a member of our team.

RBS also provides the Give a little website as a gateway to helping staff find a good cause near home or the workplace where they can volunteer or offer support. Not least, through the Group’s Community Cashback Awards scheme, valuable support is offered to community groups, youth organisations, schools and charities.
